Amber Gill has revealed that her biggest take away from going on SAS: Who Dares Wins was that she needs to open up more and that the show inspired her to go to therapy.
The Love Island winner, 25, got candid about her surprise at hearing about her fellow contestant’s traumas, after she hid her own.
She revealed that she is currently in therapy, where she is working on bringing her guard down, and said she was grateful to SAS for starting her on that path.

Speaking to The Sun, Amber said: ‘The truth is, I haven’t had an easy life, I think that’s my thing.
‘I don’t share the bad things that have gone on in my life that I probably should, I learned from the show that I need to share a lot more of myself because I keep this barrier up.
‘So I started going to therapy after being on the show because it’s not normal to not want to share parts of your life — to be closed off and guarded.’
But she said being closed off has lead people to think she has had things easy, but she explained that she struggles to talk about things and just ‘bottles’ it all up.
Amber also explained that she was inspired to show she was ‘not just a bikini’ and that she was ‘tough’ too, saying people had a certain perception of her because she was on Love Island.

She touched on her mental space at the time of filming last October, a month after she had hinted on social media that she was grappling with her sexuality.
Then, in July of this year, she declared she was ‘switching teams’ in a series of viral tweets.
Amber recently discussed her sexuality, explaining the tweets, in which she swore off men, was ‘how I came out’.
Chatting to hosts Bobby Norris and Stephen Leng on FUBAR Radio’s Access All Areas, the reality star explained that her tweet was an ‘off the cuff comment’ but admitted that it was ‘true’, following up by saying ‘I meant exactly what I said.’

In the series of tweets in question, Amber wrote: ‘Switching teams was the best decision I made in my life,’ adding in a separate tweet while watching this year’s series of Love Island:
‘Watching men makes me feel ill. I couldn’t put myself through it again.’
When asked by Stephen Leng if this was her coming out, the Geordie responded saying: ‘Accidentally, I remember looking at it [the tweet] and thinking sh**t, what have I said.’
She went on to say ‘Like a lot of my friends were like if you were gonna do it any way, that’s the typical way that you would do that.’
‘Normally people have these lovely, beautiful stories and lovely, beautiful real Instagram posts, like just lush. I’ve put switching teams on a tweet and that’s how I came out.’
In the interview, the star was also asked if she has a lady in her life, she quickly responded saying ‘I don’t, not right now’ but said that she was ‘open to it’ and ‘didn’t have a type’ when it came to dating women.
She also admitted that she’s found dating challenging since appearing on the ITV reality show: ‘I find it really difficult, and I can’t like I really don’t know like, the reason behind it.’
‘But I just, yeah, I’m very picky now. And like, very like attuned to what I like and what I don’t like so I don’t know if it’s that’s part of the reason.’
