Amityville in Space trailer brings the iconic horror house into the depths of outer space

The iconic Amityville franchise will be going where few horror mainstays have gone before – outer space, as revealed in the trailer for Amityville in Space.

The film hails from Wild Eye Entertainment, which has mined the Amityville premise for movies such as Amityville in the Hood, Amityville Island, Amityville Playhouse, Amityville Clownhouse, Amityville Exorcism and Amityville Toybox, to name a few.

This film is directed by Mark Polonia (Amityville Island, Amityville Exorcism, Amityville Death House), which is slated for release in July.

The trailer begins with a priest entering the Amityville house, with a newscaster stating that ‘something is about to go down’ at the haunted abode.

The priest sees some sort of spectral face, as someone is heard saying, ‘This house is evil incarnate. It’s evil has spread like a plague.’

The priest is seen screaming as his hand holding a cross is twisted, while someone says, ‘To stop it, we must strike at its roots.’

A bizarre graphic shows the house being uprooted from the earth some how, as the house is seen being sucked into a black hole of some kind.

The trailer cuts to the year 3015, where a spaceship is seen and someone says, ‘That’s the largest black hole I’ve ever seen’ as the house is seen materializing in space.

‘We’ve never come across anything like this in space before. I think there’s something more sinister at play here,’ says another character, while a seemingly severed hand crawls across the ground.

Another character in sunglasses says, ‘I’ve got a bad feeling about this’ as another says ‘the war between good and evil continues.’

Another character says they need to ‘nuke that black hole’ while another says, ‘that house must be destroyed.’

Other shots show priests aiming weapons at some sort of creatures with one creature seen laughing as the trailer comes to an end.

The film stars Titus Himmelberger, Cassandra Hayes, Tim Hatch, Ryan Dalton and Jeff Kirkendall.

The Amityville franchise is based on the true story of a man named Ronald DeFeo Jr., who shot and killed six members of his family in 1974 at his home in Amityville, off the coast of Long Island.

A year later, George Lutz and Kathy Lutz moved into the home with their children, but moved out after just 28 days, claiming they were terrorized by paranormal beings.

Those events served as the basis for Jay Anson’s 1977 novel The Amityville Horror, which was adapted into the 1979 film of the same name, which was rebooted in 2005 starring Ryan Reynolds and Melissa George as George and Kathy Lutz.
