Andrew Neil delivers brutal put down to Arch-Remainer Andrew Adonis – 'Certainly wrong'

With pressure building on the Prime Minister, the Labour peer claimed: “If Boris goes, Brexit goes”. Despite Lord Adonis’ comments, Neil claimed the peer has a history of being incorrect. He said in a tweet: “Not for the first time Mr Adonis is almost certainly wrong.

“He has previous on this.”

Others on social media were quick to agree with the former BBC man.

Jerry Hayes said: “Hopelessly wrong.”

Another user simply named, Dom added: “It’s an odd take and just causes harm with speculation like that.

“Don’t know why he bothered tweeting.”

Jim Goold also said: “This was quite a silly text from an intelligent man.”

The Prime Minister was forced to apologise for attending a Downing Street gathering on May 20, 2020.

Mr Johnson claimed he had been unaware of the event and said he thought it was work-related.

“And I should have recognised that, even if it could be said technically to fall within the guidelines, there would be millions and millions of people who simply would not see it that way.”

A separate party was allegedly held on May 15, where staff, including the Prime Minister, were gathered outside.

Mr Johnson said it was work-related when asked.

Legal restrictions at the time said you could not leave your house without a reasonable excuse, while Government guidance stated you could meet one person outside of your household in an outdoor setting while exercising.

Downing Street has also been forced to apologise for two staff parties that were held the night before the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral last April.

The Prime Minister was not at either event last April.
