Angie Kent claims she was once in an emotionally abusive relationship

The Bachelorette’s Angie Kent claims she was once in an emotionally abusive relationship and reveals what made her finally decide to leave

Former Bachelorette Angie Kent has spoken of the moment she decided to end an emotionally abuse relationship.

The 32-year-old opened up about her past relationship and why she left on her Nova podcast Two Girls One Pod this week.

‘I was dating this guy who was quite a lot older than me… I remember the house always stunk. And I just felt dirty every time I walked to the toilet, like I needed to have shoes on,’ Angie said.

‘And then he would give and take his love away from me all the time. And I was like, gosh, like, what’s wrong with me?’ she added.

She went on to say: ‘I put all my worth into that because society… because that’s what I was told. And I look back and I’m like, there were so many red flags.’

Angie then discussed the moment she decided she had to end the relationship.

‘It wasn’t until I picked him up drunk… and I said, “Can you just be quiet? Because you’re really loud while I’m driving and your mates in the back and you’re being embarrassing.”

‘He said, “[Shut the] f**k up, c**t.” And that’s when I stopped the car and I [said], “Get out.” He was like, “You f**king bitch.”

‘And we never spoke ever again. He called and called and I never answered. But it took a long time.’

It comes after Angie recently blasted her ex-boyfriend Carlin Sterritt on her podcast.

Carlin is not the same man she described as being emotionally abusive. She was instead referring to an older man she dated years before meeting Carlin.

In a discussion about her past, Angie claimed to her co-host Yvie Jones that Carlin wanted her to look ‘like a Barbie doll’ during their romance, and even said he refused to adopt an ‘ugly dog’ because it wasn’t ‘aesthetically pleasing’.

Angie started the chat by talking about her appearance on The Bachelorette in 2019, saying that at the time she would change her looks in an attempt to impress men – but realises now that only led to attracting the wrong kind of people.

‘I’m gonna attract people that I don’t really like, because I don’t like being 48 kilos and drinking too much and having to look like a doll all the time,’ she said.

‘I’m going to end up with Carlin, and look how swimmingly that turned out. I don’t want to attract that s**t. I want to look like this and attract a really nice human.’

Cuttingly, she added: ‘And no offense to him. I’m sure you know, he’s a great partner to a Barbie doll… but not for this guy.’
