Bindi Irwin becomes an influencer as she starts spruiking baby wipes

Bindi Irwin becomes an INFLUENCER as she starts spruiking baby wipes on Instagram… after Australia Zoo took a huge financial hit during the pandemic

Like many Australians, Bindi Irwin’s family has been impacted financially by Covid.

And following Australia Zoo’s pandemic-related money troubles, the 23-year-old conservationist has started earning extra income as an influencer.

The mother of one announced her new side hustle on Tuesday when she shared what appeared to be her first sponsored Instagram post.

Bindi promoted a range of all-natural baby wipes, saying the product had made life easier for her as a mother to a one-year-old daughter.

Her post included a 20 per cent discount code.

Bindi’s decision to monetise her social media following comes after the Irwins admitted in February 2021 their zoo was in dire straits.

And in November that year, an Australia Zoo employee claimed to New Idea that redundancies were taking place at the sanctuary.

The source said ‘several key staffers’ had been let go within a matter of weeks.

Also last year, Bindi admitted her late father Steve’s legacy was close to collapse as the family struggled to keep Australia Zoo operational during the Covid pandemic.

Then in January this year a source close to the family told Woman’s Day ‘they still aren’t out of the woods yet’ despite borders opening up.

Australia Zoo was forced to shut for 78 days in 2021 due to the pandemic, but the Irwins still had to pay $80,000 a week to feed the animals.

The huge outlay placed the zoo in a dire financial predicament.

‘The zoo relies on international visitors, and with the borders closed, indeed some state borders closed, and even Aussies struggling to get home, that’s a sizable chunk of their income gone,’ a source said.
