Blake Lively lights up the streets in sequined suit-gown as she attends Anna Wintour’s pre-Met Gala dinner ahead of hosting star-studded event
Blake Lively lit up the city streets in a stunning silver sequined dress, quirkily stitched together with a blazer vest along one shoulder, to Anna Wintour’s exclusive pre-Met Gala dinner in New York on Sunday.
Ahead of hosting fashion’s biggest night with other big names, the actress, 34, rocked the experimental floor-sweeping gown, which she wore with a long sleeveless suit-coat decorated with floral designs.
She styled the frock – adorned with both spangled detailing and pin-stripes among the contrasting fabrics – with white chunky stiletto heel boots.

The Gossip Girl star carried a navy handbag with a gold chain strap for her belongings to the star-studded event.
She added even more sparkle to the bold ensemble with chunky rings and a scattering of studded earrings.
Blake’s long, honey-blonde windswept hair looked gorgeous, worn down in loose waves.

The star added a simple touch of glamour to her fresh-faced make-up look with a sweet coral lip.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Benefit, also known as the Met Gala, is considered by many as the ‘Super Bowl of celebrity red carpets.’
This year’s theme for momentous event is Gilded Glamour; a period of flashy materialism in 1870s America, associated with its prominent New York high society scene.

Tickets for the glitzy event can reportedly cost up to $35,000 apiece, while prices for a table range from $200,000 to $300,000, with last year’s bash raking in a whopping $16.4 million for the Met’s Costume Institute.
Blake and husband Ryan Reynolds aren’t the only big names hosting. The power couple will be joined by Regina King and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
This will be Miranda’s first time as a Met Gala co-chair (and guest) but he was originally intended to co-host the 2020 edition before the pandemic forced its cancellation.

Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour is once again supervising the benefit as chairwoman, a position she’s held since 1995.
Her fellow honorary co-chairs are designer Tom Ford and Instagram head Adam Mosseri.
As usual, the sartorial theme comes from the exhibit the gala launches: ‘In America: An Anthology of Fashion,’ which is the second of star curator Andrew Bolton’s two-part show exploring the roots of American style.
