CODA was awarded with the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures at the 33rd annual Producers Guild Awards at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles on Saturday.

The motion picture – which is written and directed by Sian Heder and stars Emilia Jones, Marlee Matlin, Troy Kotsur and Daniel Durant – details the story of a hearing daughter of a deaf couple forced to make a difficult life decision.

The win Saturday positions the film well ahead of the upcoming Oscars, where it is nominated for Best Motion Picture of the Year, Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role for Kotsur and Best Adapted Screenplay for Heder.
