Proud mum Coleen shared a snap of her and Wayne’s eldest son Kai, 13, outside their family mansion as she gushed the teenager was about to start year eight.

‘Started early on the new school gear this evening (anyone else on shirt steaming duty) and @portiajett and I are already feeling the emotions.. don’t suppose we’ll have time to deal with them tomorrow amongst the morning’s excitement (chaos!) but Roman’s definitely dealing with it better than we are!!’

Former TOWIE star Maria Fowler shared a lengthy message as she marked the end of the summer holidays with her daughters Evie, six and Nellie, 23 months.

Maria admitted it has not been a picture perfect summer, telling her followers: ‘it’s been quite hard for me at times – Nellie had some really difficult days. We’ve made some amazing memories but I’m so ready for them to be back to school & nursery!’

‘I think it’s so important to be open if you’re finding motherhood overwhelming, it doesn’t matter if you are working full time or are a full time mum. It’s ok to clock watch till bedtime. It’s ok to count down till the return to school. It doesn’t make you any less of an amazing mum- it makes you human.’

‘Motherhood is demanding, overwhelming & tiring. It’s also so rewarding & the most incredible journey to go on. Childcare has been such an important thing for us to find our balance. It’s enabled me to fit my work into the week, exercise, clean the house and have a bit of time to myself again.’

Alongside Evie moving into Year 1, Maria added that her youngest had started nursery three days a week ‘which is much better for me now.’

‘I felt like I was struggling having her on 3 working days of the week, starting to miss work deadlines and struggling to find time to get things done let alone have some time for self care & exercise.’
