The Coronation Street actress, 29, played Sophie Webster from 2004 to 2019, while Helen portrayed her older sister Rosie from 2000 to 2012.

And forthright Helen, now a mother-of-three, had quite the greeting for Brooke when she reprised her role on the cobbles five years later in 2017.

Speaking on Vicky Pattison’s The Secret To podcast, Brooke recalled what Helen had proposed: ‘Darling, you’re so b****y beautiful, gorgeous honestly, but Dr Nyla [Raja, one of the UK’s top cosmetic doctors] can put some filler in that top lip!’

Helen had added: ‘You’ve grown up to be so beautiful but you could really sort that top lip out!’

Brooke jested: ‘Thanks Helen, nice to see you too, d***head!’

Elsewhere, host Vicky, 34, quizzed Brooke on her famous lesbian storyline in the soap.

Speaking of the moment she was asked, aged 16, to tackle the plot, the soap star admitted: ‘Nowadays we have lot of diverse characters, which is amazing. When they came to me about that story line, I just started college, and I thought, “oh my God no one spoke about the fact of being lesbian or straight…”

‘A lot of people battled with this alone and had no one to reference so it was a massive honour.’

Brooke also detailed her first on-screen lesbian kiss with Sacha Parkinson.

‘I remember we had to do out first kiss and bear in mind not only this was my first lesbian screen kiss, but it was my first kiss, so I was a bit like, “where are we at?’ Do we do tongues? Did you brush your teeth?”

‘With Sacha it was amazing, and we portrayed a couple on screen, and we thought we were so important, being the ‘nation’s favourite lesbian.’

Brooke has two sons Mexx, two, and 10-month-old Monroe with her long-term partner, professional footballer Kean Bryan.

After welcoming Monroe last May, she told her Instagram followers that she had some complications with the birth and went into labour ahead of her scheduled caesarean.

The star had opted for a C-section after having complications during her first birth to son Mexx.

She opened up to Vicky: ‘People get really caught up in having caesareans because they feel like a failure. I did a very long time of labour with Max, and I wasn’t progressing, now to me there was an option of my baby staying in and potentially become a worrying situation, and never did I feel I had to push, I didn’t put the pressure on myself.’
