Courteney Cox discovered Ed Sheeran's penchant for gimp masks while they were housemates

Courteney Cox has revealed she discovered Ed Sheeran’s penchant for gimp masks while he crashed at her lavish Malibu mansion between 2015 and 2016.

The actress, 57, hilariously confessed she’s accumulated eight of the S&M disguises belonging to the singer, 31, before insisting he was a really ‘good houseguest’.

During an appearance on First We Feast’s Hot Ones, she let slip: ‘Ed is a good houseguest but he likes to talk to Alexa at the house and likes to order gimp masks.

‘Just randomly on Amazon and I’ll get a gimp mask. I must have eight but Ed is really funny and he’s a great guy.’

The Shape Of You singer was welcomed into the Friends star’s luxury abode while he was recording his Divide album in Los Angeles.

He previously told James Corden on the Late Late Show about his hysterical antics.

He said: ‘She has this Alexa thing in her house, and she goes, ‘Yeah, this is wonderful. This is my Alexa. I can just order whatever on this’.’

He then revealed that he used the Alexa to order a mask to Courteney’s house while she was out of the room.

However, his prank backfired when one of Courteney’s assistants discovered the mask in the post.

Ed said: ‘She opened the post and she finds this mask and instantly goes, ‘Oh, I don’t think I was meant to see that’ and leaves it on Courteney’s bed. And Courteney comes up, and she’s like, ‘Where did this come from?”

Courteney eventually discovered that Ed had been behind the mask and now he continues to order one for her each time he visits her in LA.

He said: ‘Every time I go back there, I order her another gimp mask. And she has maybe 12, and then, I hide them in people’s bedrooms. So they’ll go in a drawer, and they’ll just find this leather S&M mask.’

The Grammy winner even claims he played matchmaker between Courteney and her now-fiancé Johnny McDaid, who is Ed’s best pal.

The Bad Habits singer explained during an appearance on The Hits Radio Breakfast Show that he once brought Johnny with him while visiting Courteney.

Telling the story of how the couple met, Ed said: I introduced her to my best mate Johnny (McDaid – of Snow Patrol), who I wrote Shape of You and Bad Habits with.

Ed, who also asked his closest pal to be his daughter’s godfather, continued: ‘He’s also godfather to Lyra, but yeah I introduced them like nine years ago.

‘She just invited me round her house and I just kept going round and then one day I brought Johnny and he didn’t come home.’

The Friends star seemed to repay Ed for playing cupid, a year later when she let him stay in her Malibu beach house for free while writing songs.

‘There was no rent but I made the bed and cups of tea and things like that. If you’re staying at your friend’s house, you should treat it like your own,’ he told The Sun at the time.

‘Well, actually, that’s a lie — because I don’t make my own bed at home,’ he added.
