Elizabeth McGovern nailed elegant chic at the premiere of Downton Abbey: A New Era at New York’s Metropolitan Opera House on Sunday evening.

It comes after the star-studded Leicester Square premiere for the sequel last month – as the beauty arrived in the Big Apple to do it all over again for the US release.

The 60-year-old, who plays Cora Crawley in the flick, stunned in a satin white maxi dress with a cape-like overlay, as the rest fell into a figure hugging shape.

Elizabeth complemented the lavish gown with a pair of open-toed black heels – which featured a diamanté brooch style detail.

She added a splash of colour with a coral pink clutch bag, while accessorising with stacked silver bangles and hooped earrings.

The actress once again showed off her silver locks – after recently switching out her usual brunette style, which she sports in the film, at the UK premiere.

She pulled them away from her face in a sleek bun, as one section of hair fell to her forehead in a side fringe.

Highlighting her glowing complexion, Elizabeth went for a dewy makeup look with a muted red lip.

She struck up a pose on the patterned carpet for a series of snaps, as she seemed in high spirits for the occasion.

The star seemed to be flying solo for the event, after attending the star-studded UK premiere alongside her filmmaker husband Simon Curtis.

Despite it’s 29 April release in the UK, fans across the pond are having to wait until 20 May to see the new Downton Abbey film, which is a sequel to the 2019 film and six-season series.

The eagerly-awaited film sees the Crawley family head to the South of France to uncover a mystery at a villa bestowed to Dowager Countess of Grantham, Violet Crawley, while an ambitious director plans to make a film at Downton.
