He rose to fame as a shaggy-haired radio funnyman, but Hamish Blake is opting for a more distinguished look of late.

The Lego Masters host, 40, could have been mistaken for an off-duty philosophy lecturer on Thursday as he grabbed a cappuccino in Sydney.

Hamish sported a cerebral widow’s peak, which can be a sign of a receding hairline, and the sides of his hair and beard also appeared to be greying.

He went for a casual look for his morning coffee run, teaming a white T-shirt with blue shorts, sneakers and a sports watch.

While waiting for the barista to work their magic, the father of two looked pensive while texting on his phone.

The sighting follows unconfirmed reports Hamish and his wife, beauty entrepreneur Zoë Foster Blake, have set their sights on a new life in Los Angeles.

While they only moved from Melbourne to Sydney a year ago so Zoë could focus on her successful skincare business Go-To, the Blakes are now said to be looking for opportunities stateside.

‘Hamish and Zoe have always loved visiting Los Angeles and could see themselves buying a family bolthole in Hollywood, but the time has never been right,’ an insider told Woman’s Day earlier this month.

But Hamish and Zoë, who were recently appointed Tourism Australia ambassadors, now believe the stars have aligned.

‘With Go-To blowing up in the U.S. and Hamish being not as a busy as he usually is, there’s never been a better time to really make a go of it,’ the source said.

The insider also claimed Hamish’s managers believe he could find roles in Hollywood comedies, and will be ‘pitching him for everything over there’.

Hamish and Zoë married in 2012, and are parents to two children, son Sonny, seven, and daughter Rudy, four.
