Hayden Christensen reveals that he packed on ’25 or 30 pounds’ to fill out his Darth Vader suit for Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series
Hayden Christensen packed on some pounds to portray Star Wars villain Darth Vader on the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi.
The 41-year-old actor in a recent interview with Fatherly said he worked out again like he did in 2005 to become the physically imposing Sith Lord.
‘I think that process was very important for me,’ said Hayden who transformed from hero Anakin Skywalker into Darth Vader in the 2005 film Revenge Of The Sith.

‘I needed to become that character again, physically. I just consumed as many calories as possible. I put on 25 or 30 pounds to fill out that [Darth Vader] suit,’ he added.
Hayden said the process took about nine months, but his Darth Vader body didn’t stick around after filming.
‘I try to avoid the dad bod thing. And I was trying to maintain that Vader body after we finished. But, honestly, I pretty much just went back to my old diet. I kind of deflated after that,’ he admitted.
Hayden has seven-year-old daughter Briar Rose with his former partner Rachel Bilson, 40.

He shared last week during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that Briar was his sparring partner in preparation for Obi-Wan Kenobi.
‘We have a couple lightsabers kicking around the house,’ he explained, ‘She was my first lightsaber training partner when I came back to the Obi-Wan show.’
The Obi-Wan Kenobi miniseries concluded its six-episode run on June 22.

Hayden will portray Anakin again in the upcoming limited series Ahsoka starring Rosario Dawson, 43, in the title role.
Ahsoka is scheduled to be released in 2023.
Hayden previously provided a voice cameo of Anakin in the 2019 film Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker.
