Holly Willoughby blasted by giant snow cannons in 'bone-chilling' challenge on Freeze The Fear

Holly Willoughby screamed as she was blasted with snow by giant cannons in her first harsh challenge on Tuesday’s Freeze The Fear With Wim Hof, called Snow Storm.

The TV presenter, 41, and Lee Mack, 53, who both front the show, braced themselves for the ‘bone-chilling’ blizzard in which they were tasked with walking along icy logs as a demonstration to the contestants.

Carrying a giant flag each, they were to mark their place in the race by planting it in the ground before withstanding 10 seconds of the storm face-on.

Lee explained: ‘It’s been designed with Wim’s blessing of course to build up your tolerance to the cold as you’ll be entering what can only be described as a bone-chilling snow storm.’

Holly changed into a white and black bobble hat, black leggings, and a soaking wet white T-shirt featuring the text, ‘What would Wim do?’

Clad with protective goggles, giant boots and thick gloves, she braced herself for the snow storm, she grimaced as the comedian said: ‘This is horrible!’

The model won the race since her co-star lost his balance and was forced to begin again, before a horn sounded to confirm her victory.

Ripping off her hat and goggles off, she shouted, ‘Brain freeze! I’m out of breath!’ with Lee agreeing, ‘That’s hard right?

Holly then told the celebrity contestants: ‘You’re going to hate it!’ before revealing they would be split into two teams and forced to emulate the hosts – but in their swimwear.

Last week, Tamzin Outhwaite confessed on the show she pretends her late mum is still alive, as she continues to cope with her sudden death in 2018.

The former EastEnders star, 51, revealed she imagines her mother Anna Santis is still living in Spain, which is where she she resided until her fatal heart attack aged 67.

She even admitted she’s thought her parent would ‘always be alive’ and likes to fantasise that this is true.

She said: ‘I thought she would always be alive. She’d be the last person to go. I do still now think she is living in Spain, where she was, and happy.

‘I just think she’s there I just pretend, in my head,’ the actress went on to tell her co-stars in the reality show, Gabby Logan and Chelcee Grimes.

During their first challenge, she had revealed her fear at also suffering a cardiac arrest when challenged to jump into a frozen lake by the extreme athlete.

Dianne Buswell, Alfie Boe, Owain Wyn Evans, Patrice Evra, Professor Green also compete.

Freeze the Fear airs on BBC One at 9pm on Tuesdays and is available on BBC iPlayer.
