Huge fire tears through tower block sending thick black smoke billowing over Manchester

Several fire engines have been spotted at the scene in Chester Street, Manchester, on Monday afternoon (June 20). 

Eyewitnesses have reported seeing a fire break out at an apartment block off Oxford Road, which is opposite the Manchester Metropolitan University campus. 

Pictures shared on social media show thick clouds of black smoke billowing from a building in the area.
