I'm A Celebrity: Bernard Tomic has an open invitation to return to the series

Tennis bad boy Bernard Tomic has an open invitation to return to Channel 10’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! – four years after he dramatically quit the series

He may have made a controversial and premature exit during his 2018 stint in the jungle.

But tennis bad boy Bernard Tomic always has an open invitation to return to I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, Channel 10 bosses confirmed this week.

‘Bernard Tomic, the door is always open,’ Ten’s head of entertainment and factual programs Stephen Tate told The Herald Sun on Saturday.

‘I still wish that we could have turned Bernard Tomic around. I really like Bernard. He is a very complex person.

‘I wish we could have talked him into staying (on the show) as it would have completely changed his perception with the Australian public.’

Mr Tate said after the success of this year’s series, he has been inundated with talent agents putting their stars forward to be part of the show next year.

‘We have never had more approaches than we have had already for 2023. They want to be on our radar early,’ he added.

Mr Tate said he was thrilled to have AFL great Nathan Buckley sign up to the series after years of turning down reality TV.

He went on to say that his ideal cast would include musicians, politicians and legends.

Bernard copped a major backlash after vacating the South African Jungle after just three nights in 2018.

‘I thought I’d be super happy, camping for the first time, being around new people… Half the time during the day, I’m just depressed,’ he said at the time.

The tennis bad boy boasted that his brief stint on the reality TV series bagged him a whopping $1million payday.

‘I just made a million dollars for four days on I’m a Celeb,’ he said. ‘I just bought another house. I’m buying everything on the Gold Coast.’

The current season of I’m A Celebrity wraps on Sunday, January 30.
