Liverpool vs Real Madrid security slammed as 'shambolic' after 'very dangerous' incident

It was expected that there would be a sellout crowd of 80,000 spectators inside the stadium, with 20,000 tickets handed to Liverpool and Real Madrid to sell to supporters. However, the Premier League club were forced to take action after spotting some tickets being sold for exorbitant amounts on resale websites.

Tens of thousands of Liverpool fans had gathered in the French capital in the hours leading up to the game and were pictured singing and chanting along to the Reds’ anthems near the Eiffel Tower.

Roads were closed in the capital by the authorities in the lead up to Saturday night;s fixture, causing traffic jams and resulting in the Liverpool team bus arriving late at the venue. But while the Liverpool players and staff got safely inside, thousands of fans remained frustrated in their attempts to find their seats.
