In a 2021 interview supporting the release of her Rumors single on the Zane Lowe Show, the multitalented artist revealed, ‘I feel like [being] fat is the worst thing people can say about me at this point. This is the biggest insecurity. It’s like, ‘How dare a pop star be fat?’ I had to own that.’

The Immortalist actor defended his comments and took on his critics in two different social media posts in which he is lying in his bed.

The first read,’ I KNEW IT WAS COMING!!! If the people that are angry particularly women really paid attention to the art of dialogue interview one I even called myself out for needing to lose weight and two more importantly the main point was celebrating the wrong thing there’s a lot of hypocritical women who also bash men at laughters (sic) expense but if you’re going to celebrate sister hood while Lizzo’s confidence is commendable it’s also dangerous.’

The Whatever Podcast co-host had spoken about the dangers of heart disease and diabetes in the interview between insults.
