Luca Bish’s sister Claudia reveals she still ‘cries herself to sleep’ after her family received online abuse during his stint on Love Island

Luca Bish’s sister Claudia has revealed she still ‘cries herself to sleep’ after her family received online abuse during his stint on Love Island.

The fishmonger, 23, received backlash after the way he treated his girlfriend Gemma Owen and pal Tasha Ghouri in the villa.

Claudia took part in a Q&A session with her Instagram followers on Saturday where she was asked about nasty messages and if she would ever go on the ITV2 dating show.

One of her followers asked how she previously dealt with the hate Luca had received while he was on the show.

Claudia confessed: ‘I didn’t… even now I occasionally cry myself to sleep reading stuff. Especially when it’s extremely untrue. I think a lot of people seem to view a lot of tv personalities as ‘characters’, but they are real humans with real emotions.

‘At the time I found some weird comfort in the fact he was privy to it whilst in the villa – I’d say it’s harder now just thinking about him seeing any of it! There’s far more love though which helps drown out the haters.’

Another question she received was: ‘How come you never really show yourself?’

‘Being in the public eye/ recognised is honestly my worst nightmare, and Luca being in Love Island has reiterated that,’ she replied. ‘Private life is a happy life so I archived any photos of myself when he went in there.’

When asked if she would ever consider going on Love Island, she shared a GIF of a man declaring: ‘I think the f*** not!’

Luca’s family took to Instagram Stories on his account during his time in the villa to say they don’t condone his behaviour towards partner Gemma Owen.

They said that while he would be ’embarrassed’ by his actions and will no doubt apologise, he doesn’t deserve the abuse he has been getting.

They say his behaviour is not reflective of the boy they ‘know and love at home’ but noted that his Love Island experience is an intense one.

They wrote: ‘I want to apologise on behalf of Luca for his insensitive reaction on last night’s episode. I know that when he watches it back, he will be embarrassed and deeply apologetic.

‘We as his family don’t condone his behaviour last might, but we do understand he is in an intense environment where his actions are heightened. Last night was not reflective of the boy we all know and love at home.

‘Please be aware death threats and nasty comments totally overstep the mark and something we has a family should not have to ensure, for this reason we have turned off the comments and messages.

‘For all those who have sent messages checking in on us, we would like to thank you very much and we see you.’

Addressing: And last month, they once again took to his Instagram Stories to say they didn't condone his behaviour towards Gemma

Addressing: Luca’s family urged people to note that he is in an intense environment and doesn’t deserve to receive abuse but were aware that his behaviour towards Gemma was not acceptable
