Mel Schilling has offered relationship guidance to newlyweds and seen plenty of faux weddings on Married At First Sight since 2016.

And in photos shared to her Instagram page on Sunday, the no-nonsense expert, 50, caught up with 2021 contestant Liam Cooper and his beau Samuel Levi at the Australian Open in Melbourne.

Mel, who attended the tennis with husband Gareth Brisbane, was also in work mode, having completed interviews for Channel Nine.

Mel stunned in a plunging neon striped frock and tinted sunglasses on the day as she cosied up to husband Gareth, who wore a bold patterned dress shirt.

While on the tennis grounds, she reunited with former MAFS star Liam, 30, and his beau Sam, who starred on Married At First Sight New Zealand.

Liam, who was ‘married’ to bride Georgia Fairweather on the 2021 season of MAFS, confirmed his romance with Sam in an Instagram post in July after dropping hints.

Alongside the candid Instagram snaps, Mel captioned her post, ‘What a ripper day at the Australian Open thanks to @channel9.’

Last year, Mel revealed details about her unconventional 2020 wedding to long-term partner Gareth in an interview with Who magazine.

Mel revealed that she not only ditched a white dress, but also chose to forgo vows at their intimate Melbourne ceremony.

Mel and Gareth, who share seven-year-old daughter Madison, had met online using eharmony’s matchmaking service.

The TV personality said she was overcome with emotion on her big day and shed tears of happiness.

‘It’s just the meaning of it all. I was a late bloomer in life, like, I didn’t meet my husband [Gareth] until I was nearly 40 and then we had our daughter Madison when I was nearly 42, so to be finally saying our “I dos” was an emotional time. It was very special,’ she said.

The wedding was capped at six people in total, with the family of three joined by two witnesses and a celebrant.

One reason their nuptials were a little less than traditional was because Mel and Gareth had held a ‘commitment ceremony’ two years prior.

Much like the Married At First Sight commitment ceremonies, at Mel and Gareth’s Bali commitment ceremony she wore a white frock and the pair exchanged vows.

‘Our commitment ceremony in Bali felt more like a wedding and our actual wedding felt more like a commitment ceremony, but that’s OK. We decided to make things official because Gareth and I were so keen to finish 2020 off on a positive note.

Mel had been separated from Gareth and their daughter Madison for three months while filming MAFS in Sydney in 2020, and felt it was time to make things official with her man.
