The trailer begins by establishing Pinch as an eccentric actor, as he plays the character of a judge on a fictional set while Waldo watches intently.

When the director yells cut and tells Pinch that his performance was terrific, the actor replies saying, ‘Terrific? That was bloody genius. You’re not going to top that one.’

As he get applause while leaving the set of the show he jokingly quips, ‘Wouldn’t be the first time I’ve had the clap.’

We then cut to Waldo while he’s still in retirement, as he swims on a plastic water donut in the middle of a lake.

He’s approached by Lorena Nascimento (played by Morena Baccarin). ‘You ghosted me Waldo,’ she says, and he replies saying, ‘I ghosted everybody.’

‘Look, I’m here on business,’ she explains, and goes into detail about Alistair Pinch and his wife.

After Waldo says Pinch ‘killed his wife’ she responds, ‘Maybe he killed her or maybe he didn’t. I don’t think he even knows. The guy is a black out drunk.’

She explains that due to the network’s investment in Pinch, they are looking to hire a private investigator to look into the situation.

‘I’m retired,’ Waldo replies, and we are shown a preview of the minimalistic lifestyle he leads inside of his trailer.

But Nascimento doesn’t give up. ‘Come on, let me bring you back into the real world,’ she says.

It appears that Waldo takes on the case, as he then faces Pinch who gives him a dramatic speech.

‘What say you detective, will you return to your mountain and leave me to the fates? Or will you stick around long enough to see the police maybe get it right this time?’ he asks.

Waldo and Pinch are then seen driving to a kindergarten attended by the actor’s daughter, as Pinch calls it a place for ‘the rich and famous.’

‘Death must have shocked the hell out of this place huh?’ Waldo asks Jayne White (played by Lucy Fry) – the kindergarten teacher, who tells him to meet her later on so the two can speak.

When he’s back with Pinch, Waldo asks him if there’s anything he might not be remembering.

The actor replies joking, ‘I have gotten married, fathered children, and taken out mortgages and not remembered.’

‘You do realize that everyone is sure you did this?’ Waldo asks.

Towards the end, Pinch and Waldo get into a scuffle. ‘Okay look, I’m a pacifist, and I refuse to get involved,’ Waldo states, and a second later he punches Pinch in the face.

‘Have you had enough?’ Pinch asks, laying on the ground. ‘I’ve had enough,’ Waldo replies.
