Million Dollar Listing's Matt Altman breaks his silence after wife's arrest for domestic violence


Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles agent Matt Altman says he and his wife Johanna  are doing good, following her arrest for felony domestic violence in early August.

‘We’re all good,’ the reality TV star, 44, shared in a statement to People, adding, ‘We appreciate everybody being concerned but nothing to worry about.’ 

Matt explained that Johanna, 40, has been struggling with the loss of her father: ‘Anyone who’s lost a father understands how you feel like your life has fallen apart, especially to COVID when it’s unexpected.’

‘The grieving process is a difficult one and doesn’t just happen overnight,’ he added. 

All appeared well between the couple on Wednesday as they were seen leaving a Van Nuys, California, home improvement store together, after news broke of Johanna’s arrest.

He also shared a photo of Johanna and their daughter London, four, on Thursday, with the caption, ‘My two favorite girls heading to first ballet class. So frigging cute!’

Johanna was reportedly booked at the Los Angeles Police Department Valley Jail Section in Van Nuys, California, on August 4 in the evening time, with her bail set at $50,000, according to Page Six. She was released the next day.

Following the incident Matt released a statement to the publication revealing that the recent loss of her father has been ‘absolutely devastating’ to her, and that the couple were staying strong and have ‘never been more in love.’ 

‘The loss of my wife’s father due to COVID-19 has been absolutely devastating to her and our entire family,’ he stated.

He went on: ‘We have all been struggling with this loss and have been going through a tough time.’ 

The reality TV star added that the couple are stronger now, saying: ‘We have never been more in love and connected from this tragedy. We ask everyone to respect our privacy.’

Johanna took to her Instagram on Tuesday to celebrate the couple’s fifth wedding anniversary with a photo of them enjoying dinner at a restaurant.

On Friday Matt posted a throwback photo to their wedding, gushing, ‘@johanna_altman couldn’t imagine sharing life with anyone else. 5 years, 4 house moves, 3 incredible kids, 2 people sharing 1 heart. Love you xo #anniversary.’ 

A couple days after her arrest, the Altman Brothers Real Estate co-founder also shared a family photo of him, Johanna and their kids in a swimming pool.

The couple, who have been married since August 2017, share twins Ashton and London, four, along with son Hudson, two.
