Mother's pain as baby's ashes stolen during burglary – 'Like I've lost her twice'

The urn was taken by burglars that broke into the woman’s house on Clopton Road, Birmingham, last Friday 4 February. Catherine Farrell Breen’s daughter, Phoenix, was stillborn almost 10 years ago.

Police are ‘desperate’ to help return the urn, as they believe that the burglars may have discarded it somewhere, and they are urging the citizens of Birmingham to get in touch with any information via Live Chat on their website, quoting crime reference 20/193726/22.

In an appeal on social media, West Midlands Police added that some cash and a Nintendo Switch were also stolen from the property, but the urn has very little monetary value.

The investigation of the burglary is still ongoing.
