A source told the publication: ‘Nadine loves playing live and she’s been paid a decent sum to headline a weekend at Pontins in Southport.

‘It’s not what some people would expect Nadine to be doing — seeing as Girls Aloud were one of the most successful girl groups to come out of the UK. But she loves to perform and this gig will be in front of a crowd of fans who adore her music.

‘If they’re lucky, Nadine will be playing some new music too, along with some classic Girls Aloud tunes. She doesn’t care where as long as she is doing what she loves.’

MailOnline has contacted Nadine’s representatives for comment.

The sweet tribute comes as Nadine revealed last year she believed she had received signs from her late Girls Aloud bandmate Sarah Harding, including when she was at home and ‘something flew off the shelf’.

The singer, told described the rough time she endured ‘awful’ when Sarah passed away in September 2021.

Speaking on The Ryan Tubridy Show on RTE Radio 1 in October, Nadine told how she had filmed Irish musical talent show Last Singer Standing where she thinks Sarah sent her signs of her presence.

She said: ‘I was so close to her in life. There’s definitely been things, she’s made her presence known a few times. As I was shooting the show, it was right in the middle of it all and people were being so kind.

‘There was a couple of days when the headphones just flew across the table and it happened three days in a row and the makeup girls were saying, “that has to be Sarah.”

‘One night I was taking about me in my house and something flew off the shelf. I was like, “Is this Sarah?” I’m still thinking she’s going to phone.’

Nadine told how the filming schedule for the show was already set when she heard the news of Sarah’s passing.

She said: ‘The show was scheduled, everything was booked. There was no way they could take a break for me to grieve. It was straight back into work. Everyone was so kind and patient with me, it was great. ‘

The hitmaker also said it has been a ‘traumatic year’ since she first learned of Sarah’s diagnosis.

She said: ‘It feels like it’s been a really traumatic year and a half, almost two years at this point. It’s a cruel disease and I know many people suffer with it. We definitely lost a great one there.’

Nadine also spoke of how close the pair were and said they remained in touch long after Girls Aloud went their separate ways.

She said: ‘She was unbelievable. Me and Sarah have been close and always remained close. We were a great support for each other in the band and for years after.’
