Paramount+ announces premiere for hot new reality franchise The Bridge Australia set to be the next Hunted
Paramount+ has announced it will premiere real-life adventure series The Bridge Australia on August 19.
Narrated by Aussie star Hugo Weaving, it is set to be the hottest reality show since the Hunted.
The show will see 12 strangers tasked with building a bridge across 330m of water to a small island in the Tasmania wilderness in 17 days, all while competing for $250,000 worth of prize money.

The format of the show has already had success in versions produced in the UK on Channel 4 and in the US on HBO Max.
Using only primitive tools and wooden logs for building materials, the participants must battle the elements in order to complete their goal.
The twist is that only one person can claim the cash, even though everyone has to muck in to build the bridge.
Each of the contestants have to ask themselves whether they are prepared to share the prize.

Beginning with stunning vistas of the Tasmanian wilderness, the trailer explains that the contestants have to build the bridge to an island in the middle of an isolated lake.
A blinking bright red beacon on the island is a constant reminder of the target for the group.
Scenes in the preview show that building the bridge is back-breaking work.

Logs are chopped with axes and lashed together with thick rope, before being dragged into the water by hand.
Contestants learn of new challenges in the contest when a red flare is sent into the sky. Messages are sent to the group in a box.
In one dramatic scene in the trailer, the contestants learn that they must ‘sacrifice’ a member of the the team.

Other scenes previewed show a group member complaining about certain member of the team ‘playing games’.
One group member sums up the mood of the contestants when he says: ‘you can leave your morals at the door.’
Channel 10 will screen a preview on Monday, August 22.
