Patrick Dempsey and Amy Adams KISS while filming sequel to Disney's Enchanted in New York

Patrick Dempsey and Amy Adams jumped right back into character and were seen kissing while filming the long-awaited sequel to their hit 2007 Disney flick, Enchanted, aptly titled Disenchanted.

The 56-year-old actor wrapped his arm around Amy — who is reprising her role as Gisele while he played a cynical lawyer named Robert in the first film — before driving off in an SUV while cameras rolled on set in Manhattan on Tuesday morning.

Adams, 47, looked lovely wearing a beautiful white dress with a green and red holly print, and a matching red belt for her role as Gisele, the optimistic princess from the Kingdom of Andalasia who previously lived in an animated world before a witch cast a spell and sent her to the real-life land of New York where Robert and his daughter Morgan find Gisele, offer her a place to stay and teach her how to be a city girl.

Amy’s bright auburn tresses were worn parted to the side and in luscious curls, and she added inches to her petite frame with a pair of strappy red heels.

Dempsey looked dapper wearing a lightweight puffer jacket on top of a green button-down shirt with khaki slacks for the sidewalk scene with his leading lady.

The former Grey’s Anatomy star showed off salt and pepper strands in his signature coiffed hair as he walked to the car after the peck.

It’s unclear the premise around the scene, but the pair were spotted surrounded by multiple pieces of luggage and were last seen filming in Buckinghamshire outside of London in a fictional town after a spell backfired when Gisele wished she could live a fairytale life once again.

The original Enchanted movie was a critical and commercial success, as it took in more than $340 million at the box office and garnered three Academy Award Best Song nominations for Happy Working Song, So Close and That’s How You Know.

It followed princess-to-be Giselle who is sent to real-world New York City where she meets and falls in love with Patrick’s character Robert. Amy received rave reviews for her portrayal, with many comparing her performance in Enchanted to her Academy Award-nominated work in Junebug.

Critics also likened Adams’ performance in Enchanted to the effect Mary Poppins had on Julie Andrews’ career.

Disenchanted is set 15 years after the original movie when Giselle, Robert and his daughter Morgan move to the suburb of Monroeville.

The community is overseen by Malvina Munroe (Maya Rudolph) who has nefarious plans for Giselle and her family. When problems arise, Giselle wishes that she and Robert’s lives could be like a perfect fairytale, which causes a spell that backfires and she must save her family and Andalasia before the clock strikes midnight.

Patrick revealed that he’s preparing to do something he’s never done before in the upcoming Disenchanted.

‘I will be singing for the first time,’ he told Variety, adding: ‘I’ve never ever sung publicly — for a reason.’

He added: ‘They’ve set me up for success and the lyrics are really fun. The numbers have really great choreography. And the premise is going to be interesting.

A sequel to Enchanted has been in the works for a long time. The upcoming movie will be directed by Adam Shankman and Patrick promised that it’s all coming together.

‘Every year they were like, “We’re going to do this. It’s going to get done,’ but then no one could agree on the script,’ he explained to Variety.

‘It’s such an important film for them and it’s a satire. It’s not a typical Disney movie. It’s kind of off-brand a little bit,’ he said.

He added: ‘To work with everybody again after 14 years is just really exciting. We need some escapism right now. We need those romantic comedies and those musicals to get people out of the doldrums that we’re in.

Maya Rudolph, Yvette Nicole Brown and Jayma Mays are all joining the cast, and have been rumored to play villains in the sequel, sources told Deadline.
