The boy suffered “serious” injuries and was treated at the scene. Paramedics arrived with an ambulance and an air ambulance before being taken to the hospital for further treatment.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “We are currently on Broadgate, Coventry after a teenager was stabbed shortly before 2pm today (September 27). The 17-year-old has been taken to hospital to be treated for serious stab wound injuries to his leg.
“We have scenes in place in Broadgate and Rover Road as we conduct forensic examinations. We’ve increased patrols in the area to offer reassurance.
