Queen Elizabeth II passed away at her Balmoral home. The Royal Family will enter into a period of mourning and will wear black to reflect this.
Royal women could be seen wearing pearls at the funeral of the monarch.
This is something done by the family at such occasions in a tradition that reportedly dates back to Queen Victoria, who wore pearls or black jewellery following the death of Prince Albert.
Royals will steer away from brightly coloured jewellery during this period.

As it was passed to her, the Queen’s jewellery is also likely to be passed on to other royals.
It is not known exactly where each piece will go, but the Queen is thought to pass them on to the closest members of her family.
Queen Elizabeth II was sure to have decided who would get what before her death.
Royals including Princess Anne, Sophie, Countess of Wessex, Kate Middleton, Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice and Zara Tindall will probably be among family members inheriting jewels.
