Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City: Jen Shah meets with lawyer Clayton ahead of federal fraud trial

Jen Shah conferred with her attorney Clayton about her pending federal trial on fraud charges on Sunday’s episode of The Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City.

The 47-year-old reality star met with Clayton at her luxurious home as they went over court documents.

‘You know, we’re preparing to go to New York. We’re going to go over all the evidence. You know, from the search warrant, your phone, computers, things like that, Stuart’s house, your house,’ Clayton told her referencing Stuart Smith, Jen’s assistant who was also charged last March by a New York grand jury.

‘Have you heard anything about…?,’ Jen said of Stuart, adding that she can’t talk to him.

‘Well, he has an attorney, so we have to talk to his attorney,’ Clayton said.

‘Have you talked to his attorney?,’ Jen asked.

‘I’ve talked to his attorney,’ Clayton answered.

‘What does he say? Because right now we’re still fighting this together, right?,’ Jen asked.

‘Right now, we’re processing. We’re a team. I mean, working together. We’re not a team working, but we’re not opposed to each other at this point,’ Clayton said.

‘If he decides to take a deal, then he may try to testify against you,’ Clayton said.

‘Basically, it’s imminent that we have to go to trial because anything other than that would be us saying we’re guilty and taking a plea, right?,’ Jen said.

‘That’s the only way to stop is to go trial,’ Clayton said and Jen agreed.

Stuart in November changed his plea to guilty for his role in the alleged telemarketing scam that targeted elderly people nationwide.

The season two episode titled Memorial Meltdown opened at the tumultuous group trip in Zion.

Lisa Barlow, 47, was in full meltdown mode after Meredith Marks, 50, came to the defense of Mary Cosby, 49.

She ranted about Meredith behind a closed door in a profanity-laced tirade.

Meredith meanwhile was outraged that Whitney Rose, 35, was questioning whether she had a memorial service for her late father.

Lisa yelled at show newcomer Jennie Nguyen, 44, for failing to back her up.

‘You guys all have a problem with Mary’s church. You guys all have a problem with everything, but nobody f***ing talks about it. I brought it all up. I took it for all of you and you all just sat there. You guys do not know how to show up!,’ Lisa raged.

‘Lisa! You’re my friend! I will always have your back,’ Jennie shouted back.

Heather Gay, 39, and Jen then engaged with Lisa who was packing up to leave.

Whitney then took Lisa aside and assured her that she wanted to have her back.

Mary, meanwhile, stood by a window and muttered about Heather who recently renounced being Mormon.

‘Heather with her little judgmental self,’ Mary said.

‘She has the snobbiness of a true Mormon,’ she continued.

Mary then took a shot at Heather’s appearance.

‘She don’t even know she look inbred,’ Mary added.

Whitney told a blubbering Lisa that she also posed hard questions to Meredith and she started to calm down.

Meredith took a low blow at Whitney for questioning her father’s memorial service.

‘I don’t believe that you haven’t talked to your father, Whitney,’ Meredith said after Whitney revealed during the season one reunion that she was incommunicado with her father who struggles with drug addiction.

‘Why don’t I take something painful to you and just rip the scab and tell you no one believes you? I think you’re lying and making it up?,’ Meredith said.

Whitney who was admittedly quite drunk kept her cool as Meredith scowled at her.

‘That is the lowest blow. How cruel. At least Meredith knows where her father is and knows that he’s resting peacefully,’ Whitney said in a confessional.

Meredith yelled at Whitney failing to shoot down the ‘disgusting’ talk about her father’s memorial.

‘But did you want me to hire a private investigator to find out?,’ Whitney shot back, referencing Meredith hiring a private detective to investigate their group.

Whitney walked away from a distraught Meredith as Mary cracked a smile.

‘Women,’ Mary said.

Mary in a confessional said that Whitney was ‘out of her mind’ for what she said to Meredith,

‘It’s just mean. And it’s not okay,’ Mary added.

Meredith then stormed up to confront Whitney about who was speculating about her father’s death.

Lisa entered the room to deny speculating about Meredith’s father’s death.

‘You’re not going to get an apology, because I said nothing wrong,’ Lisa said.

Whitney then confronted Mary for being absent when everyone was challenging Meredith.

Mary told her to get out of her face and in a confessional said it was ‘exhausting to argue with someone that’s drunk.’

The group then headed back home after the wild Mother’s Day trip.

Jen later visited Mary’s church after being invited.

A church member praised Mary as a ‘perfect friend’ and ‘perfect dresser’ and another said Mary was the ‘best friend’ anyone can imagine.

‘Mary is used to being treated by her congregation like whatever she says, that’s what it is and you don’t question it,’ Jen said in a confessional.

‘She’s a rock star. She can do no wrong with her gold microphone,’ Jen added.

Meredith back home in Salt Lake City hosted Heather and Whitney for a workout session.

Whitney promised on the car ride up that she was going to get to the bottom of the memorial issue and told Heather how she got ‘low blowed’ by Meredith about her father.

Meredith during their get-together finally confirmed the memorial took place on Monday the day before Jen got arrested.

The Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City will return next week with the season finale.
