Veteran newsreader Sandra Sully has been unwittingly caught in a live TV fail after 10 News First accidentally aired blooper footage on Tuesday. 

The clip shows Sully becoming tongue-tied while trying to report a story about Florida’s latest hurricane evacuation orders. 

Sully appeared frustrated as she fumbles over her words, shuffling her papers and looking down.

The screen then suddenly cuts to black, before commercials begin to play. 

Bizarrely, footage of Sully’s blooper is then played for a second time. It then suddenly speeds up, plays in reverse, and finally cuts to black. 

Sully’s blooper had actually been pre-recorded in Sydney hours before it aired in Brisbane, according to TV Blackbox,

It didn’t go unnoticed, as several viewers subsequently aired their confusion on Twitter. 

‘Channel 10 News is having issues’, one tweeted, as another wrote: ‘Hope all is well with Sandra Sully – TV is doing some weird jumps.’ 

Sully eventually responded after one viewer speculated that her blooper was ‘a dry run that was being broadcast by accident’.

‘Not at all tbh – just a few technical hiccups tonight folks – thanks for staying with us,’ she replied. 

It comes just months after The 10 News First: Breakfast host Lachlan Kennedy accidentally started a breakfast bulletin with with ‘good evening’ instead of ‘good morning’.

Kennedy, who previously hosted the nightly news, didn’t acknowledge the blunder and continued the broadcast as though nothing had happened.
