SNL rips Adam Levine and Armie Hammer sexting scandals in hilarious premiere with host Miles Teller

Saturday Night Live kicked off its season 48 premiere with a bang as it ripped into Adam Levine’s and Armie Hammer’s sexting scandals.

Miles Teller was the guest host of the sketch show this past weekend and he played a game show host in a skit parodying Levine’s and Hammer’s cringeworthy texts.

The mock game show was called Send Something Normal, and challenged the entertainers to reply to DMs with a ‘normal’ response.

Miles explained at the beginning of the scene: ‘The game is very simple. We have four male celebrity contestants, and all they have to do is reply to a woman’s DM on Instagram in a way that is normal.’

At stake for the contestants – which in addition to Adam and Armie included a portrayal of Neil DeGrasse Tyson and Yang Bowen as himself – was $100 million.

Mikey Day stepped into character as the Maroon 5 frontman while James Austin Johnson took on the heir to the Hammer dynasty.

Levine – who recently admitted to sending inappropriate texts to a woman on during his marriage to pregnant model Behati Prinsloo – was challenged to respond to a female fan who messaged him, ‘Hey, Adam, huge fan. Love your music.’

‘OK. Tough call. Can I see her most liked vacation photo?’ Day replied in his portrayal of the music artist.

After being shown an image of a woman in a bikini he opted to DM back: ‘Holy moly!’ and added, ‘But I got three more, though – Holy moly! Holy crap! Your body is making my penis smile.’

He didn’t quite nail it, as Miles replied, ‘All right. Sorry, Adam. You almost had it there.’

Like Adam, he also wasn’t up for the task of responding ‘normally,’ as he hit back with, ‘I want to break open your bones and suck out the marrow.’

Comedically, the statement was prefaced with, ‘Alright, look, I know there’s been a lot of talk about me in the press, but I’ve done a lot of work on myself, and I’ve changed. So I have my message.’

Hammer, who descends from the Armand Hammer oil dynasty, has been accused of making cannibalistic threats to multiple women as he sexualized eating their flesh.

Meanwhile, Keenan Thompson’s spoof of the astrophysicist was more tame, with him making nerdy references to science.

He was prompted to respond to a message that said, ‘Hey Neil. I love your podcast.’

‘Oh my goodness, what a kind message,’ a flattered Tyson said first. Then he opted to write back, ‘Salutations! Perhaps if the stars do align, you would like to come over and peer into my telescope – metaphorically speaking.’

Teller asked Neil to clarify, ‘Are you asking that woman to look into your penis?’ as he bashfully replied, ‘I suppose I was.’

And finally, Bowen couldn’t contain his excitement when pop star Dua Lipa slid in his DMs to say, ‘Hey Bow, I’m a huge fan. I would love to be your friend.’

In a callback moment referencing Adam’s response, he replied, ‘Hoooly Mooly! Holy craaap!

‘Your music makes my penis smile!’
