American actors frustrated by lack of food options while filming on location at Queensland’s North Stradbroke Island: ‘There was only one pub!’
Two American actors from Amazon Prime’s The Wilds were left unsatisfied with local dining options while shooting the series on location in Queensland.
Charles Alexander, 27, and Alex Fitzalan, 26, recently complained there were only a few places to eat at on North Stradbroke Island, where the show was filmed.
‘We became intimately acquainted with the menu of the Stradbroke pub,’ Charles said, according to the Courier Mail, adding: ‘They only had one pub to eat at.’

‘That was absolutely a challenge going to get food after you finish work… and everyone’s like, “Good luck getting food,”‘ Alex said.
‘That was awful sometimes, but we make it work.’
North Stradbroke Island has a population of just 2,026 people, making it light on amenities and dining options.
Despite the valid criticism, some Stradbroke locals were unhappy with the pair’s frustration over the food.

Island resident Carolyn Turner suggested the Hollywood stars should have stayed in character and ‘practised finding their own food and making it’.
The Wilds follows a group of teenage girls who are left stranded on a deserted island, only to discover they are part of a social experiment.
Charles plays outspoken lacrosse player Kirin O’Conner in the series, while Alex plays Seth Novak, the stepbrother of main character Henry Tanaka.

The first season of The Wilds was released on Amazon in December 2020 to rave reviews from critics.
Season two was released earlier this month, and fans are already clamouring for a third season.
‘We have a really good roadmap for where season three would go,’ showrunner Amy B. Harris told Entertainment Weekly.
