Studio 10’s Sarah Harris fills in for veteran newsreader Sandra Sully on 10 News First and admits it was a ‘dack crapping experience’

Studio 10 host Sarah Harris filled in for veteran newsreader Sandra Sully on 10 News First on Wednesday.

The 41-year-old shared a series of photos to Instagram of herself with crew members on the set of the news program.

‘What an honour (and yes a slightly dack crapping experience!!) to sit in the chair of TV icon and 10 New First’s absolute [queen emoji] Sandra Sully,’ she wrote.

‘Thanks for having me team! (This kid @benpurvey did the news with me back in Brisbane! And Katie is the the unflappable FM who did my first Studio 10! Legends.)’

‘Back to the comfy couch of Studio 10 tomorrow morning..’ she said.

It comes after Sarah recently poked fun at her own network following a spate of disappointing ratings.

Harris roasted her network’s ailing viewership while co-hosting the Kennedy Awards for Excellence in Journalism alongside fellow Ten star Lachlan Kennedy.

As reported by Media Diary, Harris sardonically exclaimed in front of the 500 media professionals in attendance: ‘Wow, so this is what it’s like to have an audience!’

Kennedy followed this up with his own self-effacing joke, following reports his new breakfast program 10 News First: Breakfast hit an all-time ratings low last week.

Taking the ratings disaster in good humour, Kennedy declared: ‘I’m the host of 10 News First: Breakfast – thank you all for watching’.

The cutting gag reportedly drew plenty of laughs from the audience.
