The Block 2022: Scott Cam will disqualify one team in 'explosive' episode

The Block team is DISQUALIFIED by a furious Scott Cam in ‘explosive’ new trailer: ‘You can’t expect me to let that slide’

Scott Cam will put his boot down and disqualify a couple from The Block on Sunday.

In a trailer released on Friday, the five teams stand before the show’s host, 59, as the room reveal scores are displayed and he gives one of them a dressing-down.

Though it’s unclear which team he is speaking to, Scott says: ‘You can’t expect me to let that slide. Regardless of whether you win tonight, I will disqualify you.’

Scott then asks ‘anybody here that thinks I’m being unfair’ to put their hands up.

The camera cuts to all the contestants standing in a line without their hands raised, before returning to Scott as he hails the ‘unanimous decision’.

It comes after The Block was slammed for its ‘hypocritical’ message condemning online bullying, after several contestants were trolled as a result of their ‘villain edits’.

A post on the Channel Nine renovation show’s official Instagram account urged viewers to refrain from ‘personal attacks’ on the contestants.

‘We are all part of The Block family and we need to support each other,’ it read.

‘Comments are welcome, but personal attacks, negativity, racial abuse and trolling will not be tolerated.’

It concluded: ‘Report abusive, harmful or racist content using the platform’s support tools.’

The statement was likely in response to the racist abuse faced by Sharon Johal and Ankur Dogra, who have emerged as the main antagonists of the season.

While comments were turned off on the Instagram post, and the producers may have had good intentions, some viewers took to Twitter to accuse Nine of ‘inciting’ the very same hate it condemns by editing certain contestants to look like ‘villains’.

‘I’m afraid your show, producers, judges, even Scotty [Cam, the host] sadly incite many of these responses,’ one person tweeted.

Some fans even accused Scott of being a ‘bully’, referencing the tough-love approach he takes with The Block contestants.

Sharon, who is competing on the show with her husband Ankur, had earlier publicly shared two vile, racist messages she’d received from viewers.
