The real reason Hamish Blake was invited on wife Zoe's 40th birthday girls' trip to Italy

Hamish Blake has revealed the real reason he was invited on his wife’s birthday trip to Italy – to be a cameraman.

The comedian, 40, shared a snap of his beauty guru wife Zoë Foster Blake and a group of their friends standing in front of a stunning Italian backdrop.

In the selfie, Hamish clutched two phones and camera, while the group of women posed in the background.

‘I’m lucky enough to be on my wife’s belated 40th Girls Trip to Italy and don’t worry,’ he wrote.

‘I know exactly where I stand (off camera, 3 metres away with the sun behind me, taking at least 5 options per photo, per phone),’ he added.

Hamish shares two children with Zoe, son Sonny, eight, and daughter Rudy.

While Hamish and Zoë are known for having one of the strongest marriages in Australian showbiz, Hamish says their relationship isn’t as perfect as it may seem.

‘Like anyone else, we have all the ups and downs that marriages have,’ he told the Sydney Morning Herald recently.

While his life may not be perfect, Hamish said he has always faced tough times with a sense of playfulness and fun.

‘If you’re applying effort to having fun and creating something, and trying to spread a good feeling around the world, that’s always effort well spent.’

‘My beautiful wife, this is… you don’t get to stand up here unless you have amazing people behind you. You’re the most amazing of people,’ he said.

In true Hamish style, the funnyman joked: ‘You stole my look for tonight. I had to quickly find this. Apart from that, I think you do it better anyway. Thank you, honey.

‘And I would also like to thank, you know, little shout-out to our kids. My kids are the favourite of all kids. They can’t be here. They got last minute fake IDs and gone clubbing.’

‘But I know they’ll watch this tomorrow when I make them on YouTube,’ he quipped.

‘So to my kids winning an award is nice. But the greatest prize is to be your dad. You’re the most important.’

Zoë, a former magazine journalist and author, established the brand in 2014, and generated $36.8million in revenue in 2020 alone.

She had an estimated net worth of $36million in November 2020, according to a report by the Australian Financial Review at the time.
