Thousands of Universal Credit advisors could be claiming benefits after losing their jobs

Although the change was announced in the autumn Budget, it wasn’t supposed to take effect until April 2022.

However, the date was brought forward to help families who are struggling this winter keep more of their hard earned cash.

Work and Pensions Secretary Therese Coffey confirmed: “We are making the change earlier than planned which means up to 500,000 more households can benefit before Christmas.”

Meanwhile anyone who is struggling is being reminded to check that they are receiving all the financial help they are entitled to.
