Tiger Woods has been rushed to hospital after being involved in a single-vehicle accident in Los Angeles shortly after 7am local time (3pm GMT), police said. Emergency crews found an SUV upside down in a wooded area located around 30 feet from the main road.
Police used hydraulic tools to pry open the vehicle and extricate the 45-year-old, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
Woods’ agent has confirmed he has suffered “multiple leg injuries” and is currently undergoing surgery.
An image from the crash site has been broadcast across US networks and shows an SUV rolled on its side, deep into woodland.
The front windscreen of the vehicle appears to the smashed and front bumper of the car completely-ripped off.

“His agent says Tiger is now in surgery after suffering ‘multiple leg injuries’ in a single-car accident.
“Looks like it rolled over off the road and down into a ditch.”
