While sources say the Today show’s line-up will not change, Scherri-Lee is seen as a ‘future star’ at the network.

Some insiders have suggested she may end up on Weekend Today.

Scherri-Lee filled in for weatherman Tim over the Christmas holidays, and within a matter of days viewers were calling for her to have a full-time role.

Fans flooded the model’s Instagram page with gushing comments, begging her to ditch her native Perth and stay in Sydney.

‘I’ve got a few more weeks before I head back to the wild wild west,’ she said.
