She is a tireless ally of the LGBTQ community and supporter of women’s right.

Last month she honored for her efforts to help get the Equal Rights Amendment into the US constitution at the No Time Limits On Equality event in Los Angeles.

It’s taken nearly 50 years for the amendment to be ratified by the requisite 38 states, but an arbitrary seven year time limit placed in the preamble has prevented it from becoming constitutional law.  The US House of Representatives passed a resolution to eliminate the time limit, but the Senate has not.

Honored: The mom of two was recently honored for her efforts to pass the Equal Rights Amendment. In her acceptance speech she said, 'I want my daughter Bella to grow up knowing she has the same rights as every man in this country.' 'And I want my son Milo, and every boy in America, to know that too. They deserve a government that cannot treat them differently because of their gender'

In her speech accepting the honor Alyssa claimed the amendment would benefit both women and men.

‘Adding the Equal Rights Amendment to the Constitution is not only a national issue. It’s personal. I want my daughter Bella to grow up knowing she has the same rights as every man in this country.’
